The Young God Fridays: Abuja Is Getting a Live Podcast Experience It Deserves
Abuja, Nigeria — 2026
In a time when everything is content and nothing holds attention, The Young God Fridays is making a quiet but radical demand: presence.
Created and hosted by award-winning podcaster Rodney Omeokachie, The Young God Fridays is a three-part live podcast listening and conversation series launching in Abuja in 2026. The concept is simple but deliberate — take episodes of The Young God podcast out of private headphones and into a shared room, then sit with the ideas together.
No panels.
No performances.
No multitasking.
Each event unfolds as an intimate listening session, followed by live reflections and open conversation with the audience. Phones are discouraged. Silence is respected. Attention is the currency.
“This isn’t about hype,” Omeokachie says. “It’s about what becomes possible when people slow down and actually listen — to ideas, to each other, to themselves.”
Three Fridays. One Arc.
The 2nd edition runs across three consecutive Fridays, each centered on a distinct theme shaping modern life — from love and power to art, identity, and meaning. While each night stands alone, together they form a trilogy designed to reward continuity and deepen engagement.
Attendance is intentionally limited to preserve intimacy and emotional safety.
Who Shows Up
The audience mirrors the podcast’s growing cultural footprint: creatives, founders, artists, professionals, and curious minds who are exhausted by shallow conversations and algorithmic thinking.
This is not a networking event.
It’s not a seminar.
It’s a room for people who care about why they live the way they do.
Part of Something Bigger
The Young God Fridays marks the first phase of a broader vision to expand The Young God beyond audio — into live events, art exhibitions, cultural products, and eventually a multi-city tour across Africa.
For now, the focus is local, intentional, and slow.
