Filmmakers across Africa are invited to pitch short documentaries (5-15 min) exploring the concept of freedom in a new initiative launched in partnership with The Why Foundation.
Six winning pitches will be selected to receive a $7,000 USD production grant, along with participation in an online story development lab and a five-day editing mentorship lab in Nairobi in December 2025. The documentaries will also receive global distribution through The Why Foundation.
