The integrated indigenous publishing company located at No 46 Water Bus-Stop, Opposite University of Ibadan, Oyo Road, is seeking to recruit an editor who will be responsible for the following duties stated below.
Job Duties:
- Plans, reviews, and revises content for publication.
- Reads content and corrects spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors.
- Rewrites text when necessary to make it easier for targeted readers to understand.
- Oversees writing workshops and book reviews.
- Makes decisions regarding content and gives suggestions.
- Ensures the quality and accuracy of all manuscripts and contents.
- Works with other team members in creating social media contents for the organization and its publications.
- Verifies facts cited in materials for publication.
- Writes/edits external correspondence.
- Edits and develops alongside the customer service representative the organization’s social media content.
- Speaks with authors on their various manuscripts and gives recommendation and advice before publication.
- Works with writers to help their ideas and stories succeed.
- Develops stories and content ideas according to the publication’s style and editorial policy.
- Sees to the proper documentation/safekeeping of all the company’s manuscript and books’ soft copies.
- Handles any other work-related tasks assigned by the management/HOD.
Job Requirements:
- Available to resume immediately.
- Male or Female.
- Must reside in Ibadan.
- Must be an English Language graduate (B.A or B.Ed.). A second degree is an added advantage.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years work experience as an Editor.
- Excellent writing and verbal skills.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of grammar and the English Language.
- Must be thorough and pay attention to detail.
- Must be a team player.
- Must be able to work with little supervision.
- Must be able to effectively work with team members in the department.
Salary:
₦90,000- ₦100,000 (depending on experience)
