FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
On Monday, May 5th, 2025, voiceover artists, industry professionals, and creative voices from across the continent came together to mark the second edition of Africa Voiceover Day, a growing annual celebration dedicated to spotlighting the talent, diversity, and global relevance of African voiceover artists.
Initiated by a collaborative effort of professionals in the industry, Africa Voiceover Day aims to recognize and amplify the contributions of African voiceover artists to the global stage. This initiative celebrates the rich cultural diversity, linguistic heritage, and artistic excellence that define Africa’s voiceover industry.

Africa Voiceover Day 2025: Spirit of Africa: Celebrating Heritage, Building the Future
This year’s theme “Spirit of Africa: Celebrating Heritage, Building the Future” served as both a tribute and a call to action, honouring the voices, cultures, languages, and legacies that have shaped the industry, while looking ahead to the future we’re building together.
To commemorate the day, attendees joined a series of dynamic panel sessions featuring speakers and moderators from Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, Zambia, Egypt, and South Africa. These conversations explored topics such as the global rise of African voice talent, the evolving impact of technology and AI, and the importance of building strong, united voiceover communities across the continent.
AVD 2025 also featured the AVD Challenge, which invited voiceover artists to celebrate Africa in their local dialects. The response was incredible, with participants proudly showcasing the beauty of Africa’s many voices.

Looking Ahead
Africa Voiceover Day 2025 was nothing short of amazing. Huge thanks to the organisers, speakers, contributors, and everyone who showed up and showed out! The energy, creativity, and sense of community were truly special, and we can’t wait to go even bigger next year.
As we look ahead to AVD 2026, let’s keep the momentum going. Celebrate the African voice every day.
